Just FYI, you don’t actually have to be on the same pc to load your saved game. As long as you create an account on their website (armor games) you can access these saves from anywhere with all your achievements still tracked. A very cool feature.

Kingdom Rush is quite possibly the best free Tower Defence game I have played online. It is a well deserved 10/10.

There are a bunch of rewards & secrets to unlock in Kingdom Rush, it is obvious that a lot of care and work has gone in to creating this game and it really shows when you sit down to play. Another awesome feature which I can’t leave out is the save game option, allowing you to pick up from where you left off (as long as you are on the same computer).

The pacing is very reminiscent of a classic RTS, new towers become available only at certain levels, giving you a constant sense of anticipation for your next weapon against the forces of evil. However, with new weapons comes new enemies, making Kingdom Rush quite challenging towards the later stages.

Kingdom Rush sports a very distinct and impressive aesthetic. The levels, the towers, the enemies, they all look fantastically cartoonish. The game also incorporates an RPG/RTS styled campaign that allows you to select levels from a large map. During this pre/post level interval you have the ability to spend stars (collected from completing levels of various difficulties) on a range of powerups that improve the strength of your magic spells, soldiers or towers. In other words, Kingdom Rush gives you much more freedom to tailor your own play style than a lot of other tower defence games.

It is hard to pin point exactly how Kingdom Rush differs from your run of the mill TD. If anything it is simply a mixture of great elements culminating to give you an enjoyable and highly replayable flash game.

Kingdom Rush is one of many tower defence games that have become abundantly available across a variety of flash game websites. If you’re like me and generally have little interest in Tower Defence games then you’re in for a treat.
